Orange County Register, Santa Ana, CA, 1991 to Present.
The O.C. Register
facility and property operations encompass
approximately 1,008,000 SF in the
Orange County area. Facilities
include high rise office space, print facilities and
distribution centers.
Archetype International has been providing
architectural and facility
support services to the Orange County Register
since 1992.
In 1998, Archetype Int’l was retained by OC
Register to provide a
complete Facility Master Plan. The first step in this
process was to
provide a Program Report extensively detailing the operations of the
newspaper under a new method of operation known as the DPS system.
This Dynamic Publishing System completely re-engineered every
work process
from advertising to news. Work group, which included
“Neighborhoods” were
designed based on a new process flow.
Working in close coordination with The
Register's staff, Archetype
coordinated and managed the operational facility
assessments,
feasibility studies and strategic planning to support the
renovation
and remodeling of 200,000 SF of space and the relocation of 880
employees within
its main facilities at Grand Avenue, satellite
bureaus and distribution centers. This
process extended over a
20-month
period and was delivered four months early, execute
dwith
its goals accomplished and while
producing the newspaper
at
the existing facility on a daily basis. Archetype
International
continues to provide Facility Support Services to the Register
on a regular
basis.
Whittier Law
School, Costa Mesa, CA, 1994 to Present.
Whittier Law School
is distinguished for
being the first ABA
accredited law school in Orange County. Archetype
International
takes pride in its leadership role and participation in the development
of the
property located in Costa Mesa. Archetype provided a
Detailed
Project Program report which was utilized as the basis
to assess 12 potential
sites, provide several subsequent feasibility
studies, and ultimately arrive
at
the decision to redevelop an
existing property on Harbor Blvd. in
Costa Mesa. The
project
was successfully completed and includes a fully functional law
school
facility
serving 900 students on approximately 10 acres
of land. The process extended
over a period of three years and
included extensive coordination with the law
school staff,
real estate of professionals and the project's construction team.
The project's
success is marked by its dramatic change of use
from a DOD site
(circa 1960) to a modern state-of-the-art
learning institution. (See “Before &

Wonderware-Invensys, Lake
Forest, CA, 1996 to Present.
Wonderware-Invensys is a technology based company developing
highly progressive
software for the manufacturing environment.
This company has experienced
dynamic growth over its twelve
years of existence. Archetype has enjoyed
a professional relationship
with Wonderware for close to 10 of those years
providing strategic
planning for locations throughout the United States, Canada
and Europe.
This relationship has matured to include the development of
Wonderware-
Invensys' new corporate headquarters in Lake Forest,
California.
The process of
relocating Wonderware's operations included the
development
of a highly detailed Needs Assessment/forecast study,
multiple site assessment/feasibility
studies and the generation of an
extensive Programming Report for the
project's development.
The feasibility studies for the corporate headquarters
of Wonderware
Software resulted in the consolidation to a campus style setting
and
the saving of $1.5 million in operating costs.
The project included
approximately 125,000
square feet of space to
house 425 employees. The project's planning phase
extended over a
period of multiple years. Architectural and interior design
services
were expeditiously provided to support a design-construction phase
of
150 days. The completed project represents a state-of-the-art
software
development facility that acts as a regional hub for
Wonderware's operations.
The facility design reflects the company’s
progressive corporate culture and
includes a full fitness center,
high tech training facilities, a large “State
of
the Business” meeting
room, and extensive lab environments to support
engineering.
PacifiCare, Santa Ana, CA, Laguna Hills, CA, 1990 to
Present.
Archetype International has provides interior planning,
interior
architecture, and facilities support for the offices of PacifiCare
The
Laguna Hills
facility is located in a high rise and encompasses
47,000 S.F. The Santa Ana
location has included renovation and
ADA compliance planning (for C.J.
Segerstrom & Sons) in a
20,000 S.F. two story office building.
Archetype International
has also provided architecture and interior
design solutions for a high tech computer
training facility located in
the
library. The library facility has also recently experience interior
renovations;
the interior design services were provided by Archetype
International.
